This one is for the Politically Correct Crowd:
Is there no 'absolute truth'? Do you want to live that one out? You then have no moral basis for any law in any society. Everything is relative and I mean everything! Anything at all goes. You have no right to condemn anyone for any act, no matter how depraved. Woops, 'depraved' is not a term since it assumes some absolute truth. Let's get down to 'brass tacks' here. Everyone wants to push this suicidal argument on people who claim that morality is valid. How about it, everyone?
Let's try abortion on for size. Since it is up the woman to decide what happens to her body that makes partial birth abortion acceptable, right (that's where a 'doctor' crushes the skull of a late term baby and sucks his/her brains out)? If that is ok then why is it illegal to dispose of a newborn that is not aborted? What about a child who is a month old? Six months?
Let's do 'gay rights' next, the marriage issue. Why would it be wrong for two men and a woman to get married or any combination of the above (including critters, LOL)? Let's go for broke on this one. Why is it wrong for adults to 'know' children (as NAMBLA likes to claim)?
Going by this premise there are no laws that should be enacted, much less enforced! There is no absolute truth, everyone? We have to be consistent, don't we? You are trapped in a 'argument by suicide'.

>At what point is the age of accountability, in the case of children born and raised in an environment where Christianity is at best unknown, and at worst misrepresented? And what happens to those who die before that age? There are millions who die in that situation every year.
Your just gonna have to trust God on that one! Why is it you unbelievers think you have to have all the answers from scripture in order to believe? Perhaps its because you have never had a 'relationship' instead of a dead religion?

No secular evidence for Jesus. What does this imply?
by Spectrum ina man that performed miracles including raising the dead has left no secular evidence.
but as i write this the question has come to mind of what ancient evidence constitutes verifiable, believable evidence that we can take to the bank?
we have the nt and the apocrypha, ancient texts that tell a story of the early christians.

>It is also worthy to note that on faith, millions have been slaughtered and murdered by followers of Jesus.Respectfully, Matt
Ah, now there is the real 'axe to grind'. You open with a 'teaser' then add a large lie to the thread. 'Followers of Jesus' actually obey the bulk of Jesus' commands, Jesus commanded no one to slay another, therefore no 'follower of Jesus' has slaughtered and murdered anyone! Look to your 'holy koran' for admonitions to slaughter the infedels. If you are whining about the Crusades, even the 'alleged followers of Jesus' who killed others were a response to Islamic aggression: self defense is not 'slaughter or murder'. Hundreds of millions have been killed by followers of Karl Marx in the last century alone. Why not whine about that? Sorry to burst your newly found replacement beliefs for JW cultism. Try getting your facts straight!

>The rather beautiful way you and other posters like Jgnat have reinterpreted the foundational Christian writings to produce a New Age Christian faith of love and peace is a positive developement within the cult.
Uh, they are absolutely clueless about any type of interpretation. What they do is use whatever they find acceptable at the moment and reject what they do not. Any Oprah Winfrey wanna be can do that.

Do they respect gay rights?
by greendawn ini am not gay and never have been one, but do you think that your local society treats gays with respect or that it has no tolerence for such a sexually different and in the thought of many deviant minority?
.
i personally don't approve of their activities but i can understand that they are genetically predisposed in that way and can't change.

That's hogwash, it is a myth that no research has ever proven. You can be predisposed by your upbringing but that doesn't mean people can't change.

Scriptures You Will Not Hear at the 28-05-06 Church Sermon
by scout575 in"and he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, ephphatha, that is, be opened.
and straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plain.
" ( mark 7:33-35 ).

JW,
His thoughts on being positive are good but you can get that from Doctor Phil. He promotes heresy like 'word-faith' and 'health-wealth'. Your words will not 'create a reality' nor do any of them have any special power. That is bogus superstition. Sheesh, go get a real Christian life in a Bible believing church. Falling for this guy's teachings is like falling for Amway (be your own boss and get rich!)!

>I also sat under a lot of Kenneth Haggin and Kenneth Copeland Teachings.
I hope you had the sense to wear a sheet of plastic over your head! Those two B.S. artists promote more heresy than the JWs do. The next thing we will hear are gracious words for Kathryn Kuhlman.

Lots of Bethelites Not Happy With Downsizing
by Seeker4 ini had a long conversation last night with an old jw friend whose sister and brother-in-law are bethelites since the 1970s.
she is an artist, and he runs a small but important department there.. we were talking about the bethel downsizing (my friend was well aware of it), and i told him i figured his sister and b-i-l would be safe due to the fact that they are now in their 60s and have something close to 4 decades seniority.
but he said no, that they were worried that they would be asked to leave as well, sent into the circuit work or as special pioneers sent where the "need is great.".

Crumpet,
They can always work at McDonalds or Wal-Mart! Now if some of them have some real skill in the printing industry that might help. Too bad for them.
